Ok. After consulting my commissioner (who wanted the vines off the bow and some other details changed) this is what I came up with as what I consider to be the final image if she approves of it. I had to make the background separately (which I eventually cropped to fit my character) and it is the first background I have put so much effort in so I am feeling a bit proud of myself (proud for putting in the effort, not because it's amazing or anything).
At first I just made an outcrop for her to stand on and told me it looked a bit like the head of a bull so I decided to make it into a bull-like creature thingy. I thought it adds to the fantasy element. What do you think people? Note: If you want to see the full size pic you can download it.
totally awesome. I thought would be more plain artwork at the end. Great talent love !!!!
What I do not like here is the blue sky. this way they eye is taken upwards, and I belive should be moving downwards to earth.
If you reduce/ crop the top of sky a bit and add this space height to the bottom you will have more dramatic composition as the bull rock will gain height.
depth is already perfect. Also depends how you like it to appear
Remember, when the sky is in higher altitude is almost black-blue. I believe this light blue does not exist in this height. Should be darkened a bit to adjust for the dramatic landscape.
I think you've done a good job on that background, it really works. I would change some things though, like the sky and then crop it too so you don't have all that space. Just to show you, I've actually took the time to edit this for you lol.. this is how I imagine it should look:
I had actualle made the sky a lot darker but alas, it did not compliment the colours of the elf woman. She got lost in darker blues. Which is why I had to make myself a new sky. These things are why art sometimes isn't 100% realistic. Dark green and dark blue dull each other out :S
Hey dude, thanks for taking the time to do that. It looks dark and rainy, I like it! This picture is going to end up as an ID. That's what my commissioner asked. It is indeed going to be cropped eventually. I'm just giving her the option to crop it how she wants it, as a closeup or a more landscaped image.
